Strong demand for network security appliances helped deliver decent growth for Check Point, which is also expecting customer interest in its ThreatCloud offering.
A combination of sales of the old, in the form of the vendor's established annuity software blades, and the new in the form of the network appliances, managed to help the vendor produce am 11% increase in revenue for the first quarter ended 31 March to $313.1m.

The move into the cloud was made last week and the ThreatCloud collaborative network is designed to fight cybercrime collecting information from participating customers to gather real-time data on the latest threats. The feature is being incorporated into the vendor's latest software blade release.
