ComputerLinks has been signed up by Tufin Technologies as a UK and Ireland distribution partner giving the channel player the chance to extend the protection its resellers can offer around firewalls and network management.

With recent research highlighting the failure of many existing firewalls to cope with the latest threats the opportunity for resellers to upgrade customers is a significant one.

Tufin Technologies provides network security policy management products that work with firewalls from the likes of Check Point and Juniper Networks and the vendor has been distributed by ComputerLinks in Germany for the last four years.

The signing of a UK deal should help the vendor carve out more of a foothold in this market and comes with the additional benefit of being struck with a firm that has an intimate knowledge of its products.

David Caughtry, director of core technology at ComputerLinks, said that automating network security helped users save money and deal with meeting compliance regulations and this would "create new opportunities for our channel partners to add value and differentiate themselves in a highly competitive market".

Robert Civil, regional manager at Tufin Technologies, said that it was building on an existing relationship with the distributor and it was confident it could get them presented well to the distie's reseller base.
