Resellers and vendors will have a chance to put their services and products in a virtual shop window with a website that is designed to provide users with a serach engine for IT that feels like well known online insurance services.

The comparetheware.com site is launching in the first half of this year and is looking for resellers to sign up to align their services to the options that users can serach through including security, virtualisation, VoIP, networking, storage and cloud.

A user will go through a four step process to identify product, vendor then reseller before submitting a request for a quote, which is the point at which the dealer will be given the chance to pitch to the interested buyer.

In a market that requires it's loveable characters and clear branding comparetheware.com is using bloodhounds, which can sniff out the best IT deal, and is promising it can quickly match buyers to their needs.

Craig Moody, co-founder of comparetheware.com, said that research had shown that buyers wanted information about products quicker and if the buying process was straightforward it would appeal to a wide audience.
