Ingram Micro is continuing to expand the roll-out of kit to support its growing telecommunications division, which was given full access to RIM's mobility portfolio earlier this month.

The broadliner announced today that it has signed up US-based mobile service management (MSM) software and services outfit BoxTone.

Under the terms of the latest agreement Ingram will sell BoxTone's 'Essentials for Blackberry' line throughout Europe.

The firm's package automates core BlackBerry monitoring and management activities, alerting IT departments to mobile service issues on a proactive basis.

Ingram Micro EMEA Telco Division executive director and general manager Pierre-Yvon Mechali said that Boxtone's software was a "clear complement to our growing telecommunications product suite and supports our strategy to develop a full ecosystem around mobile devices."

Last week it inked a distribution pact with newcomer OtterBox, which makes protective cases for handsets.
