Ingram Micro has been given access to the full line-up of RIM's BlackBerry mobility portfolio across nine EMEA markets including the UK.

The distributor already supplies RIM's server lines but will now add smartphones, accessories, software and technical support services.

Ingram Micro has ploughed money into its recently-formed telco division during 2010, establishing a team of telecoms 'experts' across the theatre to implement country-specific strategies.

Pierre-Yvon Mechali, head of Ingram Telco, said: "The value of supply aggregation is becoming more apparent as mobile PCs and smartphone capabilities converge."

Ingram will be pitching the BlackBerry portfolio at resellers, retailers, mobile operators and MVNOs, and also has plans to add other mobility and software vendors to complement the range, said Mechali.
