Cisco distributor Azlan has launched two apps for the iPhone and Blackberry platforms designed to help SMB resellers get a snapshot of Cisco stock availability on the fly.

The apps have already been road-tested by Azlan's in-house sales teams and are now being rolled out to resellers across Europe.

The distie's Cisco EMEA SMB business development head Alex Warmerdam said the programmes would give resellers a "competitive advantage" in new business opportunities.

"Being able to identify the most suitable Cisco small business solution and check availability of stock on their smartphone will enable them to provide an immediate estimate of delivery to their customers, enhancing service levels and giving them a better chance of winning new business," he added.

The iPhone app is available on Apple's app store, while the BlackBerry app can be downloaded from Azlan's website.

Azlan said it hoped to make the service available across the entirety of the Cisco portfolio within a month, and hinted at future development plans to port the apps to other platforms, such as Android.
