The IT world seems to relish a legal spat and no sooner has a six year battle between SCO and Novell wound down than Microsoft and Salesforce start to bring the lawyers into argue over intellectual property.

Salesforce.com is suing Microsoft for alleged patent violations seeking unspecified damages just a month after a it found itself on the end of a legal claim  of being guilty of using its rival's technology in parts of its graphical user interface.

"Microsoft's continuing acts of infringement have caused and are cuasing irreparable harm to Salesforce.com," the complaint made by the vendor stated.

With both sides now pointing the finger the happiest people in Seattle, where Microsoft filed its claim, and Delaware, where Salesforce.com put in the legal paperwork will be the legal communities that have landed the cases.
