With the iPad launch in the UK just weeks away the arrival of the product in the US has been undermined by technical problems with wi-fi signals.
There is a mounting consensus among those that spend their time watching Apple that the iPad will arrive here on 24 April but many will hope it does not come with the accompanying problems that have happened since last weekend's launch in the US.
Users there have complained that the wi-fi signal on the iPad is weak and keeps cutting out in the same locations where it is strong with iPhones.
Apple has offered a fix and accepted on its support page that "under certain conditions, iPad may not automatically rejoin a known wi-fi network".
But brand guru Simon Middleton believed that even if there were some technical teething problems the strength of interest in Apple would overcome the problems.
"Apple needs to sort out these issues very, very quickly. They must remember that many of the first buyers will be purchasing almost as an act of faith. They will be, in the main, Apple fans already, and they trust that iPad will be the magical device promised by Steve Jobs," he said.
