Capita, the business process outsourcing company, announced today its successful selection as an approved supplier for both lots of the Government Procurement Services Information Management and Learning Services Framework, writes Linda Endersby.

The framework is for use by schools, academies, consortia and local authorities to purchase management information systems and learning services.

Capita was selected for the  Learning Services lot for its hosted managed learning environment OPENHIVE. The platform is supported by a large collection of communication and collaboration tools.

In the Information Management Services lot Capita demonstrated its suitability as its SIMS management information system, is the most widely used across the education system already, with 22,000 schools recording learner data on the product every day

Steve Smith from the education business development team at Capita, said it was a result of the quality of its SIMS and OPENHIVE products that it had been selected.

"The framework will make the procurement of products a lot easier and reduce the time and cost of purchasing; which can only be a good thing for schools and local authorities," he said.
