The moves were unveiled at the vendor's SecurityAlliance partner summit to help McAfee lead the transformation of a more seamless, mobile and secure computing experience.
"We are evolving our channel strategy to fuel this transformation by helping our channel partners innovate and differentiate themselves.' said Alex Thurber, senior vice present of worldwide channels at McAfee.
Plans introduced at the summit include the McAfee Authorised Support Provider (MASP) programme which allows partners to support customers directly and has been upgraded to be available worldwide, a change from its prior limited beta. Training is available to ensure all level of support personnel is able to access it's proprietary tools.
Also unveiled were changes in the McAfee Security Alliance partner programme which is now expanding to include MSP (McAfee Managed Service Partner) Program designed to meet needs of MSP provider partners and includes an automatic monthly renewal.
McAfee has also introduced a more flexible and optimized continuing education opportunity to give partners more choice to tailor it to their needs and a new learning management system available in January 2012.
