Do you have authoring experience gained in a commercial role, as part of your studies, or similar? If so, this is the role for you. 
As an award winning company, our client develops and publishes powerful, easy-to-use desktop publishing, design and graphics software. Over the years, they've been praised for their products by businesses, educational establishments and ordinary PC users. An opportunity has now arisen for a Junior Technical Author / Graduate Technical Writer to join their team. 
In this role you'll be responsible for helping to produce online help guides, user manuals and web-based documentation for our client's software products, working on both UK and international versions. Continued support and training will be provided in order to make a success of the role and progress.
Working alongside a more senior colleague, as a Junior Technical Author / Graduate Technical Writer you'll be given plenty of opportunity to develop your authoring skills in a wide variety of tasks including:
- writing online help, user manuals and tutorials, including arranging illustrations and proofreading 
- formatting and generating translated manuals, including creating hard copy and resolving issues 
- updating/creating content for 'How To' tabs 
To be considered for this position, you must have some authoring experience gained within a commercial role, your academic studies or similar. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively to non-technical people and clearly explain complex issues. 
Authoring experience gained within IT or software would be beneficial to your application, as would proficiency using authoring tools such as RoboHelp.
