As a fully regulated insurance company based in the City of London, our client offers innovative insurance products which use the financial markets to offset risk. They are currently looking for a Java Web Developer to join them on a new project which will lead to rapid growth during 2010.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Java Web Developer / JSF Front-End Developer with the flexibility and willingness to 'get the job done' to join a small but growing financial services firm.

Within this role, the Java Web Developer will be involved in the design and development of a client-facing web application. The role is initially offered on a two month contract, though there is the potential to become permanent.

To be considered for this role, the candidate must be able to demonstrate solid commercial experience with the following technologies and skillsets:

- Front-end design
- Front-end web development using Java Server Faces technology
- CSS and cross-browser development including AJAX libraries such as JQuery
- Good knowledge of the MVC framework
- The use of J2EE architectures & EJBs to drive front-end web applications

In addition to your broad skill set, you should also be a team player with a willingness to learn and an ability to work at all stages of the development cycle.

It would also be beneficial if the Java Web Developer can demonstrate an understanding of XML and web services, good database experience, and experience creating documents using the Jasper Reports library - though these are not essential.
