Beverly Beech, the chairwoman of the Association for Improvements in Maternity Services, has explained why she is opting out of the Summary Care Record, which is part of the NPfIT. She says that incorrect data on systems run by social services has led to unjustified attempts to remove children from their parents.
Beech doesn't want her health information being uploaded to a national database in case some of it is wrong and which she cannot correct.
She was speaking to us after the publication week of the Database State, a report commissioned by the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust from the Foundation for Information Policy Research.
