Swindon GP Gavin Jamie, who runs the Quality and Outcomes Framework database website, writes in response to an entry on this IT Projects blog about NHS Connecting for Health's having achieved its 10 millionth "booking" on the NPfIT Choose and Book system:
"The question of how many of these bookings are hospital appointments is a pertinent one. One local hospital found the problem of patients being booked into the wrong clinics to be so severe that the "appointments" on C&B are simply times to be rung by the hospital to arrange a real appointment."
