CSC assurances on morale, pay, training and travel

A anonymous reader who appears to be an employee of CSC claims that morale is low, training is not exemplary, travel is limited, and the pay increase (for the employee at least) is 1.75%.

A CSC spokeswoman replied promptly saying that all the comments were untrue. She said:

"None of the statements are at all true - most are quite the opposite. Morale certainly hasn't dipped, both training and travel costs are carefully managed as always, but no embargoes in place whatsoever. Annual pay rises are on a par with industry norms."

Totally untrue, many people got 0%, I dont believe that is inline with industry. HR have really cocked up this year

Sid:

Training, lol. CSC provided a couple of training days recently. The trainimg provided included how to use excel, word and powerpoint. How the company can use the word "Computer" and "Science" in their name is laughable. It should be called HR, Middle Non Technical Manager Corporation.
Everyone at CSC in the UK recieved 0% pay rise this year.
Moral is very low, just ask CSC management to provide you with the results of the gallup poll taken. Apparently the results were terrible. Bottom 5%.
If you want technical training the best bet is to pay for it yourself out of your poor salary and leave. That's what i'll be doing.
