Google-Verizon net neutrality proposals

In August Google and Verizon proposed a number of policies that the US communications regulator, the Federal Communications Commission could consider with respect to net neutrality, the doctrine that holds that all bits on the internet are equal.
While some commentators have hailed the proposals a positive step, many more have condemned them.
