Not quite requiring mountaineering equipment, but still thoroughly Swiss nonetheless, the Red Hat sponsored Fedora Project will host its EMEA Fedora Users and Developers Conference (FUDCon) between Sept. 17-19, 2010 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Along with its annual multilingual two-day event (FrOSCamp), these free of charge events are expected to feature technical lectures, working sessions and an open source hackfest for Fedora contributors.

Fedora Project Leader Jared Smith will deliver a keynote at FUDCon focusing on, among other things, open standards & systems and digital sustainability.

More information is available at the Fedora Project wiki -- mountaineering-grade backpacks and crampons are optional this year.
