In the year 2004, Hearts and Brains, an NGO in Sarangani Province, Philippines started to use the cellphones to give medical advice to patients living in remote communities. Patients send the signs and symptoms of their illness to the doctor and the doctor will send back the medical advice and the first aid medication, if necessary. We made a code for the signs and symptoms so that all the information about the illness can be sent in just one text message. We are happy to share our experience about this project. We call the project "Itx c Doc" (Text the doctor). If you are interested to know more about our project, please send us a message to our email address rozca63@yahoo.com. Thanks
