Laptops may fry more than just thighs

Laptops may be bad for what lies below and fry more than just thighs when used repeatedly, a study has revealed.

It is not the heat from the batteries that's to blame, however, but the Wi-Fi waves that could damage sperm counts and threaten male laptop users' chances of fatherhood, according to reports.

Tests by a US and Argentinian research team showed sperm exposed to electromagnetic Wi-Fi signals were less able to swim and had irreversible changes in the genetic code.

The researchers said male laptop users should not be too concerned as the tests were carried out in an artificial setting, but Downtime thinks the fact that a quarter of the sperm placed next to a laptop using Wi-Fi for just a few hours were killed, is a good enough reason to sit up and take notice.
