Copper-Bottomed Nonsense

Michael Pincher

The propensity for UK civil servants to gold-plate EU legislation is legendary. Regulation that the eurocrats pass down is given several costs of looking at and then double coated to wrap us in knots. Pity that where it matters, i.e. the financial sector, the regulatory authorities were toothless. However, ensuring that farmer's muck piles are in tip-top order is administered with alacrity.

A point made in a comment to this blog that some EU legislation is a barrier to collaboration between enterprises. Anyone with any anecdotes or war stories please let me know. Cheers.
