From Poppy day to GIS day

Michael Pincher

I received a communication wishing me a Happy GIS Day; hoping today is productive for me and will help raise the profile of GIS and Geospatial technologies. It came from a Gavin at GIS specialist recruitment agency http://www.ashton-consulting.co.uk.

Having worked in marketing, and with my colleague Ian White, been responsible for pitching ideas to IT vendors to help them promote stuff we've considered cool, a Happy GIS Day seems bizarre. But if you are talented digitisers, technicians, consultants or directors there is work for you out there. I guess the wheeze worked!
