Microsoft cuts thousands of jobs, but what will be the ripple effect?

GarnerJ
OK, so the first bit of bad news for the tech sector and the New Year has hardly got under way...... Microsoft to cut 17% of its workforce. So its not confirmed yet, but this rumour has been gathering strength for a while now.

What will be the impact on its UK business? It is believed that Microsoft will lay off 3000 UK staff, but of course this is the tip of the iceberg....what will this mean for the resellers? What will it mean for this year's Windows 7 launch? Is there any point launching a new operating system if no-one's buying new PCs?

I think its time we did a bit of Microsoft naval-gazing and see where it will be heading in 2009.

People always hate to talk about when they are laid off. But as it has become every day's news headline since Yahoo started it with cutting 1500 of its task force last year, now a need of platform has been in demand where people can express their selves in words how they are feeling about their company, whey the got laid off was that justified or not.
And every thing they want to tell anonymously. And www.layoffgossip.com is providing you that platform.
