Oooh la la, 3G for tous

It seems that just over the channel a rather novel approach is being taken to mobile broadband 3G networks. Le network sharing!

Nokia Siemens have announced a deal with SFR (the second largest French operator) which will see SFR's 900Mhz 3G network upgraded and expanded, and then made available to subscribers of the rival mobile operators, Orange and Bouyges Telecom, in rural France.

J'aime le approach and seem to recall something similar was used to persuade mobile operators to reach the more distant and remote areas of Scotland some years ago using a mast sharing plan.

Joined up thinking, we love it!
