Post & courier organisations with 1000+ staff spend only £80 per employee on telecom services.  Smaller sized concerns have outlays considerably larger with companies employing 50-99 staff expending nearly £1,200 per worker.

The public administration spends around £400 per employee on telecom services.  For all UK organisations the value is 50% higher.  The pattern across size of organisation shows a notably larger difference with smaller enterprises.

Small business services companies, employing 50-99 staff, spend £220m on telecom services.  Legal services firms form the largest spending segment at £37m.  Next in the rankings are employment agencies and office & other business support concerns each having an outlay of £27m.  The smallest spenders are technical testing & analysis organisations and enterprises undertaking head office activities.

Information services companies - which include those involved in hosting and web portals activities - spend almost a factor of ten more on telecom services per employee than UK organisations as a whole.  This is even more pronounced with concerns employing over 1000 staff where spend by information services companies is over £8,000 compared with £600 for all industry sectors.
