Hewlett-Packard may have found a successor to Stephen Gill, UK
and Ireland managing director, with former CSC European president
Nick Wilson tipped for the role.
Gill was due to leave the post at the start of July to become
the head up the supplier's business in Korea but has remained in
the UK until his replacement joins the firm.
A HP spokeswoman refused to comment on the potential candidate.
"The decision regarding Steve Gill's replacement has not yet been
confirmed," she said.
"As part of his commitment to the UK and Ireland, he will be
working with the management to ensure that his replacement is the
right person to lead the business, address the challenges and
capture the opportunities that lie ahead."
A spokeswoman at CSC confirmed Wilson - who previously worked at
IBM Global Services - has resigned from his post at CSC.
People close to HP have questioned why the vendor has decided to
recruit a country level director with a background in services from
outside of the business when it has a number of senior staff at EDS
that could fill the role.
