Castle Morpeth and Alnwickcouncils in the north-easthave begun using ashared customer relationshipmanagement system to cut costs.

The system has reportedly saved the councils around £200,000 in software installation costs, and is expected to deliver annual savings of over £27,000 in running costs.

They are using shared Dell servers and a shared storage area network, which support a Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform, reports Kablenet.com.

The two authorities are maintaining separate CRM databases however. The system was customised and integrated by CRM consultant Optevia as part of a shared service deal.
