A payment system that supports all retailer payment platforms
has been launched by Smart
Technology Solutions (STS).
The G8way system is an extension to the
STS
SmartNS framework, designed to deliver a flexible, open
standards-based payments system to retailers globally.
STS said G8way delivers the first flexible payment system to
support all payments standards through one simple integration, to
either a retailer's EPoS (Electronic Point of Sale) system or as a
stand-alone payments terminal.
For multinational companies, G8way means the standardisation of
payments infrastructure across international operations rather than
running multiple systems.
Through the use of existing IP infrastructures, G8way also
centralises reporting capabilities, greatly reducing
information management overheads, said STS.
G8way's IP-based architecture provides a centrally managed
electronic funds transfer (EFT) system. This centralised control
reduces costs for retailers and terminal operators by removing the
need to manage local "thick client software".
