Jeremy Garside's job as head of technology for the London Symphony
Orchestra involves overseeing the IT and other technology needs for
the three arms of the LSO's business - the orchestra itself, LSO St
Lukes, the orchestra's UBS-sponsored music centre in Old Street,
City of London, and LSO Discovery, the orchestra's education arm.
Jeremy Garside also has some technology oversight for the LSO's
website - www.lso.co.uk.
Garside works with a small team of just six people including an
IT manager. There are two people who look after the technical
aspects of the orchestra's concerts. At St Lukes, there are two
people who are primarily venue technologists among a larger team
managing the centre. There is one person who supports the
technology needs of LSO Discovery.
We interviewed Jeremy Garside at the CW 500 club for IT
Directors, where we asked his views on his career path, combining
passion with a passion and the role of technology at the London
Symphony Orchestra.
