Google Chrome out of favour

Google's new Chrome browser has already lost market share despite the widespread hype it received last month when it launched.

Web analytics firm Clicky reports that Chrome picked up 3% of browser views in the week following its launch, but that usage has since halved to 1.5%.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Mozilla's Firefox both saw their use slightly fall in the first week after Chrome's launch, but Chrome's impact was short-lived.

Internet Explorer is now on about 60% and Firefox holds over 30% of market share.

Apple's Safari browser currently has over 4% and Opera stands at almost 2%.
