Businesses planning to fill
gaps in their IT skills from outside the European Economic Area
(EEA) after the end of November must act quickly or face
delays.
Employers
need
to apply for sponsorship licences to bring workers into the UK
from outside the EEA, a process that will take up to six weeks to
complete.
Businesses have been warned they should apply now if they have a
need to fill specific IT roles.
The new Australia-style points system, for workers with skills
including IT, will be launched in the UK at the end of November.
The system is designed to ensure British businesses have the skills
they need while reassuring citizens that there is not too much
immigration.
