The best blogs in the IT industry, as voted for by Computer
Weekly readers
Following months of anticipation since our quest to find the
best IT industry blogs in the UK kicked off in May, it's finally
time to reveal the results.
From your nominations, our panel of judges whittled down the
list of about 300 blogs into 10 category shortlists. These were
then put back to your vote to determine the overall winner in each
category.

The winners provide a real spread of insight into the IT
industry in the UK. The bloggers' backgrounds range from senior IT
management to intellectual property law and technical development,
while the topics they cover include everything from specialist
software for schools to the latest in gadgets and online fun.
Best of the Best
Our judges, including Head of Blog Development for Reed Business
Information, Adam Tinworth, then selected one blog to be named the
'Best of the Best'. The judges decided Steve Clayton: Geek in
Disguise was a worthy winner: entertaining and informative with a
strong voice, regularly updated, and with good use of the blog
form. The judges also noted the loyalty of Steve's readers, many of
whom sent in personal testimonies of how much they enjoyed the
blog.

Special mention should also be made of those blogs that didn't
make the league table, but nevertheless received a large number of
votes. Plaudits, then, to: Confused of Calcutta Schneier on
Security Racing Snake pda: the Guardian's digital content blog the
OddIT blog from BCS and blogs by Eileen Brown, PlusNet and David
Overton.
And as the full shortlists from this year's contests will remain
available on the site, there's plenty of time to check out the
other blogs nominated by your peers.
