Palm has introduced the Treo Pro
smartphone for businesses that want to simplify their IT
infrastructures and lower costs.
The phone's tight integration with Microsoft comms applications
will mean cheaper mobile integration and deployment costs for
firms, said Palm.
With its streamlined design and Palm shortcuts layered onto the
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, the Treo Pro is
designed to increase productivity.
The device supports e-mail, Wi-Fi and GPS access. The phone will
be available from next month on the Vodafone and O2 networks.
"Businesses want the control and savings that Windows Mobile
affords, in an innovative and elegant package that keeps their
users happy," said Ed Colligan, Palm CEO.
He said the Treo Pro, using Windows Mobile 6.1, can deliver
increased security, easier device management and better access to
information on the corporate network.
Treo Pro has a high-resolution colour touch screen, a full
QWERTY keyboard, and a removable battery that supports up to five
hours of talk time.
