Charnwood Borough Council is using a web-enabled system to
improve community safety.
The Leicestershire council has taken part in a three-year pilot
of the
Sentinel
system.
Sentinel records and monitors anti-social behaviour, and is able
to streamline the management of complaints and incidents of
anti-social behaviour across the borough. It is designed to reduce
duplication and administration for authorities.
The system uses a central database which partner agencies,
including the police, have access to.
Charnwood now plans to integrate the system with other internal
IT systems, including its call management system.
West Essex county council uses a similar system.
