Avon & Somerset policehas
extended its records managementcontract with Northgatein a new
£500,000 deal.
The four-year contract will see Northgate working to further
improve the force's use of its Guardian Records Management
System.
Northgate already helps Avon & Somerset officers to act
quickly based on accurate information, through the ability to
input, store and access records and the linkages between them via
Guardian.
Previously, they would have had to log on to separate systems to
find out if a suspect was known to police, at what address they
were known at and whether they were known for previous
offences.
Under the new agreement, Northgate will deliver further
improvements that will enable the force to provide access to
information securely over the web or on mobile devices, enabling
officers to retrieve data whilst out in the field.
The new deal will also allow the force to extract bespoke
analysis that supports daily operations priorities - for example
all burglaries in a certain sector or all stolen vehicles in the
last 72 hours.
Avon & Somerset assistant chief constable Steve Mortimore
said, "We are committed to using information more effectively to
inform operations and meet our day to day and strategic
priorities."
