UK manufacturerBushell &
Meadowshas reduced its sales order processing
time and cut its costs by 80% through replacing its Sage accounting
and manufacturing software with the supplier's
business process management suite.
Since implementing the
Sage 200 software with a manufacturing industry-specific
module, the company, which supplies the military, aerospace and
medical industries with small metal parts, has also reduced the
time it takes to produce profitabilty reports from two days to two
hours.
Ian Mence, business development manager at Bushell &
Meadows, said the company decided to replace its
Sage Line 50 software because it needed a system that could
deal with more than one warehouse, give more detailed cost control,
provide total batch control, and offer more powerful reporting
capabilities.
"I wanted to have unique stores for each of my respective
elements of manufacturing, the ability to manage multiple cost
centres, and high-level batch control so I can trace components
back to specific batches of raw materials," Mence said.
Bushell & Meadows chose Sage 200 because the standard
package met all its needs without requiring any bespoke work or
additional software from a third-party supplier.
"It was simple to implement, it was easy to migrate existing
templates and data, and it allowed me the flexibility to choose the
level of batch traceability I required," said Mence.
