Symantechas developed an automated IT
service workflow system to help firms deliver more efficient
IT.
Symantec has announced the
Altiris Workflow system and an updated Altiris Helpdesk system
to help businesses deliver efficient IT service through integrated
tools and repeatable, automated processes.
These system use the open Altiris platform to help customers
improve IT processes, reduce the cost of management, and ensure IT
services are compliant with laws and regulations like Sarbanes
Oxley, said Symantec.
Altiris Workflow system and Helpdesk system take advantage of IT
awareness provided through the Altiris CMDB system.
This integration creates an environment for Symantec endpoint
security and management technologies to work together according to
unique IT processes and established best practice frameworks like
the
IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standard.
Greg Butterfield, Symantec group president for the Altiris
business unit, said, "Symantec systems help make IT processes
repeatable and predictable to improve IT service and the end-user
computing experience while reducing costs.
"Through closed-loop IT service, security and configuration
management, we are also helping businesses become confident in
meeting their compliance requirements."
The Altiris Workflow system from Symantec is expected to be
available in beta next month. Altiris is a Symantec subsidiary.
