Fujitsu is the latest firm to build a green datacentre,
spending £44m on its new London site.
Fujitsu said the
65,000-square-foot datacentre will have a low
carbon footprint as a result of using new IT-cooling and
processing technologies, saving enough electricity to power as many
as 6,000 homes every year - equivalent to saving 10,000 tonnes of
carbon dioxide each year.
The new datacentre
will be used by companies and public bodies in the UK and
continental Europe.
Other green
datacentres have recently been announced by other companies in
Manchester and London.
