Reutershas awardedFujitsu Servicesa 10-year
£500moutsourcingcontract to manage its
internal IT infrastructure.
The deal is designed to save Reuters about £150m over the
duration of the contract. Fujitsu will provide services for
Reuters' 17,500 employees based in more than 100 countries around
the world and will host the new IT infrastructure.
As part of the deal, a number of Reuters staff from around the
world will transfer to Fujitsu.
The service will be supported by Fujitsu multi-lingual service
desks in Lisbon and Kuala Lumpur.
Datacentre services will be provided from Fujitsu facilities
around the world.
David Lister, Reuters CIO, said, "This partnership will allow us
to accelerate the development of our internal IT services, giving
us greater flexibility to respond to the changing needs of our
business divisions. It will provide technology appropriate to the
needs of our people wherever they are working around the
world."
