Microsofthas confirmed that the first
service pack forWindows
Vistais not imminent, and that it is working
to issue a pack by the end of the year.
Some news reports have suggested that Microsoft is about to
issue Vista Service Pack 1.
With many firms waiting for the service pack to come out before
buying the current OS, Microsoft is keen to convince them to buy
now, instead of holding out for a couple of weeks for SP1.
The company is already working on the
next
version of Windows, previously codenamed "Vienna". It is now
reported that the internal development name for the next version of
Windows is "7".
