O2 cuts price of making and taking calls abroad
O2 has launched a mobile pricing plan that removes charges when users receive calls abroad. For a monthly fee of £5, O2 UK users can make calls for 25p a minute - a 70% discount over standard rates - as well as receive incoming calls free in Spain.
Cisco moves into teleconferencing
Cisco Systems has made a departure from its core networking equipment business by unveiling a high-definition videoconferencing system called Telepresence. It will be available from December.
Juniper updates app acceleration products
Juniper Networks has introduced two updated application acceleration platforms - DX for datacentre acceleration and WXC for Wan application acceleration. Juniper has integrated these with existing enterprise IP routing and security products to address datacentre consolidation, web-enablement of applications, and data replication and back-up.
No fixed connection needed for 3G wireless
SonicWall has launched a network security platform, the SonicWall TZ 190, that allows users to instantly create a secure 3G wireless broadband network in any location, without the need for a fixed internet connection.
