East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Hertfordshire County
Council and West Lothian Community Health & Care Partnership
have been selected as finalists for the 2006 Local Government IT
Excellence Awards.
The awards, organised by local authority IT managers organisation
Socitm and sponsored by Computer Weekly, highlight the use of best
practice in public services.
The winner will be announced at the Socitm Annual Conference in
Harrogate on 3 October.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s project was selected for its
innovative approach to improving customer access, usability and
efficiency of the management of events, facilities and activities
in the council’s venues and communities.
Hertfordshire County Council’s work on the nationally sponsored
schools eAdmissions project was chosen because it involved
delivering an electronic service across 150 local authorities in
England.
West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership was
shortlisted for its C-me application. The software was developed to
improve the delivery of services to children through a shared
information system used by West Lothian Council Social Services,
NHS Lothian, West Lothian Education Schools and Services, Lothian
and Borders Police and the Scottish Children’s Reporters
Office.
