Food distribution firm JJ Food Services has increased
productivity to the value of £31m within nine months of installing
a new business software and call centre package based on Microsoft
Dynamics AX enterprise resource planning software.
The company delivers 500 tons of food each day to more than
15,000 customers across the UK.
It deployed an eDCCM call centre and telesales management system
from eBECS, based on the Dynamics AX business platform, and used
XML and web services to integrate its Cisco IP phone systems and
company portal with Dynamics AX.
A return on investment review revealed that improved truck
loading times as a result of better scheduling are allowing JJ Food
Services to handle an extra £31m of business a year with the same
resources.
The company has also saved sales staff time and cut customer
waiting times, while improving order accuracy by 15%. Order
processing times have been cut by almost 25%.
Mushtaque Ahmed, senior business operations manager at JJ Food
Services, said, "Customer service, order taking and delivery are of
paramount importance to the success of our operation - we cannot
afford downtime."
He said the main benefit of Dynamics AX lay in its development
lifecycle, which was shorter and easier than the other options
evaluated.
