IT and telecoms is the fifth most boring jobs category,
according to research conducted by a government teacher training
organisation.
Administration/secretarial, sales, manufacturing and
marketing/advertising topped the Workforce Boredom Index published
by the government-owned Training and Development Agency for
Schools.
They were followed by IT/telecoms as the most boring jobs for
university graduates to go into.
Media, law and engineering were all deemed less boring when it
came to choosing a job.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, teaching was seen as the most
interesting job - the Training and Development Agency for Schools
promotes teaching as an ideal career.
Not being able to use knowledge and skills in specific jobs was
the main factor for respondents when choosing their least favoured
jobs categories.
The top jobs in the boredom index were:
1. Administrative/secretarial
2. Manufacturing
3. Sales
4. Marketing/advertising
5. IT/telecommunications
6. Science research/development
7. Media
8= Law
8= Engineering
10= Banking/finance
10= Human resources
