Verari Systems has announced the availability of its
VS4000 family of storage systems featuring full front-end to
back-end 4-gigabit Fibre Channel connectivity.
Based on new storage processors, the VS4000 series features 16
drive bays within the controller module, up to eight 4-gigabit
Fibre Channel host ports and up to 4Gbytes of cache. Verari
believes the increased performance and connectivity of the VS4000
series makes it the ideal solution for mid-range business and HPCC
applications that require simultaneous, high performance bandwidth
and I/O.
The company says that the VS4000’s compact chassis design saves
space and reduces power and cooling requirements. Yet, with up to 8
terabytes of capacity in its 3U RoHS compliant chassis, it provides
a small footprint with large scalability.
"Many organisations have adopted [4 gigabit San] solutions to
take advantage of the performance they offer," says David Driggers,
CEO of Verari.
"Not all businesses or HPCC applications require the utmost in
performance that [San solutions] provide, yet they are still faced
with the same challenges: a method to cost effectively deliver the
performance and capacity demanded by ever increasing amounts of
complex data. The VS4000 series systems offer our customers… an
affordable mid-range option."
