In the emerging
IT ecosystem, information technology is moving rapidly outside the
domain of traditional IT organisations and the focus for IT
directors should be on the business process and innovation
supported by technology, says analyst firm Forrester
Forrester says that most successful global enterprises have
flexible business models — and flexible IT to support them.
Business requirements, when captured as policies and process
models, translate more directly and flexibly into the IT
applications and IT infrastructure necessary to run your business
in the digital age.
Such thinking, including examples of how to draw business benefit
from it, will be on show at Forrester’s IT Forum, GigaWorld running
from 7-9 June 2006 at Lisbon, Portugal
The event has the theme, ‘Achieving Business Flexibility Through
IT Innovation’ and will tackle a range of strategic, tactical, and
technological challenges facing IT management and business. It will
endeavour to explain what the IT, business, and vendor communities
have to do to thrive in the new ecosystem and show how to build a
digital business with innovative technologies and IT management
practices that drive innovation and, ultimately, top-line
growth.
Forrester says that through a combination of analyst
presentations, in-depth case studies, executive exchanges, analyst
one-on-ones, and peer networking, attendees will acquire the tools,
knowledge, and best practices to make the right technology
decisions today.
