The IT director's role in using scarce IT resources to
solve both immediate and long-term business needs will be the theme
of the Gartner Midsize Enterprise Summit Europe, at Disneyland
Paris from 20 to 22 June.
The conference will look at mid-market issues, trends and
solutions from horizontal and vertical industry perspectives.
Presentations by Gartner analysts will cover business continuity
strategies, how to build a case for IP telephony, and using open
source technology in mid-size companies.
Other areas to be covered include the consumer technologies that
will have the biggest impact on IT through to 2010, Microsoft's
client side roadmap, and whether to build or buy IP telephony.
The format is a mix of business- and technology-focused
presentations, product announcements and displays, and networking
functions.
The target attendees are IT directors from the public and
private sector with responsibility for at least 100 end-users.
Attendance is by invitation only and Gartner covers all expenses -
conference registration, travel, accommodation, meals and social
events - provided that delegates meet the qualification
criteria.
Sponsors of the event include Cisco, CommVault, Dell, EDS,
Oracle, and Quantum.
