The Mozilla Foundation has released version 1.0 of its
Camino browser, which is built for the Mac operating
system.
The updated open source browser supports the Mac OS X 10.2
operating system, and is an alternative to Apple’s own Safari
browser which it bundles with new Macs.
The Camino browser, which is available to download for free,
includes a number of features recently included in Mozilla’s
Firefox browser, which is designed for the PC.
These features include a new tab bar, ad and pop-up blocking
functionality, and enhanced security features.
Version 1.0 of Camino will run on both PowerPC- and Intel-based
Macs. Apple recently announced availability of the first Macs to
run on Intel’s processors.
