Construction plant hire firm GAP Group has signed a
£1.4m contract with software and services supplier Intentia for an
enterprise rental management system.
GAP Group, one of the largest independent plant hire companies
in the UK, will use the system to support a planned increase in
turnover to £100m by 2009.
The company has already used Intentia's Opportunity Analyzer
software to set practical business performance targets and identify
quantified financial and non-financial gains before changing
business processes.
Using Opportunity Analyzer, GAP Group calculated that operating
profitability would improve by £3.4m and working capital would be
cut by £341,000 within two years by implementing an enterprise
rental management system.
Andrew Stewart, financial director at GAP Group, said, "In our
business, personal dedication to each customer is key. Our company
has experienced year-on-year growth of 17% for the past 20 years
and we are confident that implementing Intentia's enterprise rental
management solution will ensure that this focus on our customers
will not be compromised."
The nationwide implementation across 55 depots began this month,
and the go-live date is planned for October. Additionally, Intentia
will provide a complete set of professional services, project
management, business and technical consultancy, and support
services.
In November last year, Hewden, another of the UK's largest plant
hire firms, committed £15m to a business process overhaul based
around Intentia technologies.
