Awards mark outstanding contribution

Two BCS awards that recognise outstanding contributions to IT are open for nominations.

The Lovelace Medal recognises those who have made a contribution of major significance in the advancement of information systems or its understanding.

The Roger Needham Award is for a distinguished research contribution in computer science by a UK-based researcher within 10 years of completing a PhD. The winner gets £5,000.The deadline for nominations for both awards is 21 December.
