Microsoft has announced the availability of its Data
Protection Manager disc-to-disc continuous data back-up
system.
The software saves snapshots of data off Windows servers
throughout the day to allow IT administrators to restore and back
up files from disc faster.
Data Protection Manager works on Windows Server 2003 and takes
up to 64 snapshots of data, storing them on a standard server.
Prices begin at $950 (£560) per server.
Data Protection Manager had been under beta development for well
over a year. IBM recently launched its own Tivoli Continuous Data
Protection for Files solution.
